Ah Island Life. One thing you will end up missing living on an island is the units that fit inside the Magic Flight Launch Box. In the USA or in Canada you can quickly and eaisly find quality material for your Launch Box. But on an island like dominican where you are a foreigner, finding the material is a dangerous and risky business. You would think that they would be relaxed about it like they are in Canada but that is seriously not the case.
However this may not be true all the time. I sent a sample Magic Flight Launch Box down to the Dominican Republic and it seems some people were showing it around in the office where they worked and it turns out they liked it and they wanted me to send some down. Now I thought about this and I thought about Quid Pro Quo. That is the only way its going to work. So in exchange I need to get something sent up here. The Magic Flight Launch Box is a herbal vaporizer.
Now you would ask yourself, what would you want from the island of Hispanolia. The only good thing you could get from there would be Mamajuana from the Mamajuana tree. See the Mamajuana Wiki entry for the full scoop on what this is. For the 20 second version Mamajuana is the Dominican Viagara. There is something in the Mamajuana tree that reacts well with the body.
So this brings us back to the Quid Pro Quo. I was checking online and it seems that you can buy Mamajuana online and have it shipped to Canada with Canada Post priority mail. This is very interesting to me and I will have to find out if this is legitimate or not. This brings me back to the Magic Flight Launch Box. We were trying to decide if it was worth it to Buy Magic Flight Launch Box in Canada or not.

The great Dominican Escape.. as in get out!!
The tide is high and I'm moving on. It's so hard to get work done when you're constantly being asked questions from potential customers. Then again its even worse when the questions are coming from existing customers. Oh well. Thats what happens when you sell things that people can't figure out how to use. Like if you didnt know what an Iolite WISPR was, would you figure out how to use it?
This brings me back to the day I left the Island. I felt it was time to go. Time to return to the mainland. Time to.. close a chapter in my life. If you walk away, every day it'll rain.... ok.. Enough of the Bruno Mars. Who doesn't think that song totally ripped of Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones.
So we were trying to leave Puerto Plata and there were no flights to Canada. We had missed the flight we wanted to catch by a couple of hours. That's what you get when you don't plan your escape! So there we were, all packed up and ready to go with nowhere to go. We decided to drive towards Cabarete towards Samana. It wasn't our first trip around the Dominican Republic. We had been all over the Dominican side a couple of times anyway.
We ended up driving to Punta Cana and catching a flight into Halifax. I still have the photos of my little boy at the Punta Cana airport. So cute, he was walking around playing having a good time. Dave is still down there trying to sell Dominican Real Estate. He's got a good website now so maybe he'll have some success with it.
Our friend came down there, he is from Iraq. I wonder if he is missing his Arabic TV Channels. He didn't look like he really cared about that kind of thing, but he spoke to his friends in Arabic so I would think if that was your natural language that you'd want to speak arabic. With these new Mediabox IPTV receivers you can get all your arabic TV programming from anywhere in the world. How about that says Ahmed! I think he likes it.
Anyway, maybe another day I will go into more detail with my unplanned Dominican Escape. I miss my Hyundai Terracan I left behind... I miss a lot of what I left behind, and I really miss the island. I miss a lot of things lately. I guess the music helps, and so does staying busy with work. So I guess it makes sense to give a shout-out to my friends at Vaporizer Store where they've got the new Arizer Solo. Everyone has been asking for the M107 Arizer Solo, well.. he has them. It's actually fuinny cuz my Iolite Vaporizer is starting to die out on me. It takes like 100 clicks to get it to light which means its on the way out. I'm thinking of switching to the Arizer Solo myself, but my issue is that its just a little too delicate.
It doesn't seem right to end on such a commercial note. So lets get into the reasons we left. Things just seemed to be going downhill. The reasons we aren't going back are equally as silly... spiders! And I guess having children makes it difficult. With young children I'm not sure the Dominican Republic is the greatest place to be living. Although, it really wasn't that bad. Once you get used to the heat you realize that you're living in paradise. And once you figure out how to make a living while living in paradise, well.. then you're set then aren't you! You'd probably be ready to start looking at that Dominican Real Estate LOL.

Living on an Island
Ah Island life. What can you say about living on a tropical island. I spent 3 great years living in the tropic of cancer. I started off in a small place, driving a scooter. I eventually traded that scooter in for a 1987 Suzuki Samurai. I had to change the battery and put a new clutch in that beast but it got me around. That vehicle got my son home from the clinic in the city about an hour away. I learned to drive standard on the way home from picking it up. It was a good thing I bought it in the hills because it was all downhill on the way to my beachfront condo.
Eventually I traded the condo for a larger condo. Now I was in the penthouse, I had the rooftop where I could lay out at night and watch the stars whiz past. Life was grand. Soon we decided that we should move up to the Villa. This gave us more privacy and our own swimming pool. The house was a bit hotter than the condo since it was difficult to run air conditioning in a house of that size. The small tv was traded in for a 50 inch plasma. Cable tv was replaced with satellite tv.
A month or two later it was time to trade in the beast. The 87 Samurai was sold to some local surfers and replaced with a Hyundai Terracan turbo diesel SUV.
Living on an island was grand. I had the casinos at night where I could play poker tournaments or cash games 7 nights a week. I had all the clubs and bars if I wanted to go for a drink. I will come back tomorrow and tell you some stories of my island life.
